'Agbogbloshie' is a dance performance by German / Costa Rican artist Bernardo San Rafael, telling about the strongest human beings on earth - Agbogbloshie is the electronic landfill of Europe. It is situated in Ghana, Africa. And in your home.

I had the big honor to contribute the music and perform live with the dancers. The two shows took place in the Kulturkirche St. Jakobi, Stralsund, Germany on December 21st and 22nd.

After getting to play live with the 'Shopping Bag' installation back in August, I put a lot of thought into how to make the setup more portable overall and also interact on a higher level with the performers during the show.

The result was a mixed setup with Ableton Live 11 and the Vermona Perfourmer in the center. The November gig in Copenhagen was the first event where I had the new setup in use, and it proofed to work very well.

But what made this set very much different as well is the fact that the tracks where only very rawly scribbled when I arrived at the venue. I recorded some early demos so the crew could start working before my arrival, but the majority of the sound design and arrangement happened on location during the rehearsals. This had a big impact on the mood and the overall vibes of the music and I think we really nailed he atmospheres with it.
