59 Perlen is the solo music project from Matthias Rosenkranz. He was born in Germany and lives nowadays in Zurich, Switzerland. Since producing electronic music for 20 years, he started to create computerless tracks in 2020 and released "Dawless", a minimalistic album entirely performed on music hardware, and he scored a number of ambient tracks for contemporary art projects. "When Left Alone" is a continued journey of this process. As the album opens with "A Hot Kinda Musician" you get a haunting feeling come over you. There are multiple moments similar to this on the album. Then all of a sudden the minimal dub beats bring you out of that zone and give the listener an almost different direction to follow. a perfect example is the closing track "Worthwhile". It gets a bit more upbeat but still has that dark feeling. The sounds and textures throughout the album are very pleasing to the ears. I found myself discovering more hidden sounds every time I heard it. I suggest sitting back and chilling with the headphones on while enjoying this album.
